FTPA assisted Veolia Agriculture in the acquisition of Deleplanque’s fertilizer distribution business

May 24 2024

FTPA assisted Veolia Agriculture France in its acquisition of Deleplanque’s fertilizer distribution business. A strategic operation that strengthens the Group’s presence in the European fertilizer market.

Through its subsidiary Sani, Veolia Agriculture has successfully completed the acquisition of Deleplanque’s fertilizer business. This carve-out marks the end of Deleplanque’s historical fertilizer business.

With the acquisition of Deleplanque’s fertilizer distribution business, Veolia Agriculture has strengthened its offering in fertilizers generated by the circular economy. Founded this year, the group’s agriculture division is supported by several Veolia subsidiaries. Positioned as the French leader, it already produces over a million tonnes of fertilizers, notably through Sede Environnement. These fertilizers are based on the valorization of bio-waste and co-products from the agri-food industry.

FTPA advised Veolia Agriculture France on the corporate aspects of this transaction with a team comprising Charles-Philippe Letellier (partner), Julien Garanger, Aude Verdier and Ella Berditchewsky; on tax matters with Sophie Jouniaux (partner) and François-Xavier Cochenet; on employment law with Laure Calice (partner) and on intellectual property with Hélène Huet (Counsel) and Lucile Tranchard Frayssinhes.
