New organization of work and of processing of files by the IP offices and the courts

March 19 2020

1 – WHAT ARE THE APPLICABLE DEADLINES BEFORE THE IP OFFICES?

EUIPO

EUIPO has announced that all deadlines due to expire between 9 March and 30 April are automatically postponed on 1 May.

French IP Office

As of today, the French IP Office has not provided any directive that would postpone any deadline for the ongoing matters.  Consequently, current deadlines remain applicable.

In addition, there are no plans to postpone the entry into force of the new trademark cancellation proceedings before the French IP Office, which will be effective from April 1, 2020.

Also, all of the French IP Office and EUIPO online services remain accessible, in particular with regard to the filing of trademark or design applications.

2 – WHAT ABOUT THE PENDING ACTIONS BEFORE THE COURTS?

The Ministry of Justice and the jurisdictions have communicated a continuity plan.

In order to continue to assist our clients, our team remains connected to all official legal services through secure access and already organized by the courts, including by electronic hearings.

We will keep you informed individually of the follow-up of your file and the possible postponement of the hearings.
