FTPA supports Lynred in its acquisition of New Imaging Technologies (NIT)

October 9 2024

FTPA is advising Lynred, a world leader in the manufacture of infrared sensors, on its acquisition of New Imaging Technologies (NIT), a company specializing in the design and manufacture of short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensors.

Lynred, born of the 2019 merger of Sofradir and Ulis, owned by Safran and Thales, is well known for its high-quality infrared detectors, used in demanding sectors such as aerospace, defense and trade markets. The acquisition of New Imaging Technologies (NIT), an innovator in SWIR technology, further consolidates Lynred’s position as a leader in the industrial market.

Founded in 2002, New Imaging Technologies has distinguished itself through continuous innovation, notably in the development of HD1080p SWIR sensors with a pixel size of 8µm. These products are in high demand in sectors such as space and aeronautics, machine vision, security, surveillance and scientific inspection.

The FTPA team assisted Lynred with François-Xavier Beauvisage, partner, Julien Garanger and Noëmie Rivas in corporate matters. Sophie Jouniaux, partner, and Pauline Klein advised on tax aspects. Partner Laure Calice, Marine Claisse and Adeline Petitjean advised on employment law, and Hélène Huet, Counsel and Lucile Tranchard Frayssinhes on intellectual property aspects.
