FTPA strengthens and expands its corporate M&A practice with the appointment of François-Xavier Beauvisage and the arrival of Romain d’Innocente as partners

February 20 2023

FTPA is honoured to announce the nomination of François-Xavier Beauvisage as partner. This appointment is testimony to the firm’s desire to promote its in-house talent and to continue the growth dynamic of the corporate M&A department, one of the firm’s pillars. FTPA is delighted to welcome Romain d’Innocente from Gide Loyrette Nouel. His arrival is in line with the firm’s intention to enhance its expertise in transactional real estate and complete its offering.

The corporate M&A team now consists of 15 lawyers, including five associates.

François-Xavier holds a Master 2 (droit des affaires 214) from the Université Paris Dauphine and a Master 1 in business law with a specialisation in finance from the Université Catholique de Lille in partnership with EHDEC Business School. He decided to come back as counsel in 2019 to continue his career, after a short stint at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel.

François-Xavier acts on behalf of a diverse client base, particularly in the new technology, retail and services sectors, for French and European clients. He advises on M&A transactions of listed and non-listed companies and assists investment funds in their private equity matters.

He recently led the team that assisted the investment fund NextStage in its reinvestment in WiiSmile, alongside Eurazeo, and advised the founders of Vinatis in the disposal of their company to Groupe Castel Frères.

“I am proud of the trust FTPA has placed in me by co-opting me as a partner, after having started my career there. The rigour, the technicality, and the entrepreneurial approach, which are the main hallmarks of the firm’s identity, were passed on to me by the partners who gave me their trust and allowed me to fulfil my ambitions as soon as I arrived. It is with great enthusiasm that I intend to contribute to the development of the corporate practice and to boost the private equity activity in particular, alongside the other members of the team.”

“Transactional work is a demanding field, which requires increased availability for our clients and agility in the solutions we propose. It also pushes us to think outside the box with our clients’ best interests at heart”, says François-Xavier.

François-Xavier’s partnership is an obvious decision, and we are very happy with his exemplary journey. He stands out both for his undeniable technical skills and for his hard work. He quickly took the lead in managing the operations entrusted to him, with great adaptability. His soft skills and human qualities, in line with the firm’s culture, are essential assets in the practice of our wonderful profession” stated Nathalie Younan, Head of the Corporate M&A practice.

Romain d’Innocente will be committed to extend FTPA’s real estate practice. As a specialist in real estate transactions, he will be a core part of our corporate M&A team. His double expertise in real estate and M&A is a definite asset for the growth of the firm.

He spent 12 years in Gide Loyrette Nouel’s Corporate department in Paris and Shanghai, where he was an associate before becoming counsel.

Romain acts on all M&A transactions and has developed a specific expertise in acquisitions, disposals, asset valuations, and real estate portfolios. His area of work extends to the structuring of joint ventures and regulated (notably OPCI) and non-regulated real estate investment vehicles. He advises a variety of clients, including insurers, real estate companies, funds, and groups in the retail and luxury sectors.

Romain holds a Master 2 in business law and a Master 2 in banking and finance law from the Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne. He has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2011.

“I am very happy to join FTPA, whose ambition and values I fully share. I am delighted to be able to bring my experience in M&A and real estate to this extremely dynamic firm with an entrepreneurial mindset by developing the real estate transactional practice,” says Romain d’Innocente, partner.

Nathalie Younan, partner, adds “Romain’s arrival complements and reinforces our skills thanks to the expertise he has acquired and developed in real estate matters. His international background, particularly in Asia, fits in perfectly with the support we offer to our international clients and to our French clients with interests abroad. Beyond his technical skills, we were pleased by the dynamic personality of Romain, who will fit in naturally with our firm, in line with the values that we convey.”
