FTPA advised Safran (and in particular its subsidiary Safran Electrical & Power), an international high-technology group operating in the fields of propulsion, aeronautical equipment, space and defence, on tax matters in connection with its recent acquisition of the “ELS” aeronautical electrical systems business from Thales.
This strategic acquisition for Safran Electrical & Power concerns Thales’ business line specialised in conversion, power generation and electric motors for civil and military aeronautics. This international transaction includes Thales Avionics Electrical Systems and Thales Avionics Electrical Motors in France, based in Chatou, Meru and Conflans-Ste Honorine, as well as entities based in Orlando (USA) and Singapore, which specialise in support, maintenance and production for aeronautical electrical equipment.
This transaction is part of the exclusive negotiations initiated in September 2022. The French activities are now fully integrated within Safran Electrical & Power, while those in the United States and Singapore will follow, after a period of transition required to obtain certification approvals.
FTPA acted for Safran with a team comprising Sophie Jouniaux (partner) and Pauline Klein (associate).
