Sandra Esquiva-Hesse joined FTPA on January 2016, following the merger of SEH Legal, law firm she founded on April 2011.
She advises small, mid and large cap and their shareholders in relation to corporate transactions, financing, restructuring (carve-out, special situation, distress M&A), insolvency and liquidation proceedings and related litigation. She has an in-depth experience of cross-border transactions and litigation and representing foreign investors & corporates.
She is a former partner at Paul Hastings where in 2006 she created and took the helm of the finance and restructuring department in the Paris office. Previously, she was Counsel at Clifford Chance Paris and began her career in Wall Street as U.S. associate in the Bank Finance & Bankruptcy department at Shearman & Sterling New York from 1997 to 2002.
She is a member of the Paris and New-York bars and graduated from Columbia University Law School (LL.M 1998, New York, NY), Università Degli Studi Di Bologna (1997 Dottorato di Ricerca in Diritto Europeo, Bologna, Italy) and Université de Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne (1996 Magna cum Laude DEA in International Economics and Law and 1995 Valedictorian DESS Foreign Exchange and Corporate Law, Paris, France).

She built a notoriety for her innovative thinking process in solving complex situations as such she was the runner up of the 2010 ranking of the Financial Times for “Most Innovative Lawyer of the Year” and received a recognition from Magazine des Affaires – 2015 Most Innovative Mid-Cap Restructuring of the Year, for the largest employees-led takeover of their company.
She is a member of the ARE (French association for business turnaround ), IFPPC, AFFIC, and the French American Foundation and the General Secretary of the French branch of the International Women’s Forum.
