Delayed flight with a connection outside the EU: what obligation does a non-EU air carrier have?

In a decision dated April 7, 2022, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled on the application of Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of February 11, 2004. This text establishes common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers. It applies in the event of denied boarding and cancellation or long delay of a flight with a connection by a non-Community air carrier, departing from an airport located in a Member State and bound for a third country with a stopover in the latter.
